About Us
Canopy builds software for organizations that need better ways to plan, track, evaluate, and report their impact. Our work began at Kansas State University, where PEARS was created to help Extension and SNAP-Ed teams replace fragmented reporting processes with a more reliable, modern system. In 2021, that work grew into Canopy: a public benefit company now serving mission-driven organizations across the country.
How We Work
We’re a small team that cares about making complex work easier. These principles guide how we build software, support clients, and work together.
Listen First
We take time to understand each client’s programs, constraints, and reporting needs before jumping to solutions. Regular conversations and advisory groups help keep PEARS grounded.
Mind the Details
Good reporting depends on clear workflows and trustworthy data. We sweat the small usability decisions because they have a big impact on the everyday experience of our clients.
People, not just Software
Service is at the core of who we are. Our team works closely with yours through planning, implementation, training, and ongoing support.
A team with
PEARS-onality
Whether it’s lending a hand, digging into a tough problem, or asking thoughtful questions, our team shows up with heart and purpose. Together, we’re not just building software—we’re cultivating tools that help people and programs thrive.
Aaron has over 20 years of experience building data management and reporting tools. Although his favorite tree is a red oak, you might find him on the disc golf course trying desperately to avoid them.
